About We Rock the Spectrum Huntington
Peter and Leslie Starnes are the proud owners of We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym in Huntington. After returning to the area in 2018, they were inspired to create a space that would positively impact local children and families. With backgrounds in education, veterinary medicine, and community involvement, they are passionate about creating an environment where all families feel welcomed, supported, and included.
Their passion for opening the gym grew through personal experiences with their daughters, learning about sensory needs and child development, as well as seeing the importance of inclusive spaces for children of all abilities. They believe every child deserves opportunities to play, grow, build confidence, and connect with others in a safe and encouraging environment. Their goal is to provide a place where families feel comfortable, understood, and supported.
Looking ahead, Peter and Leslie hope the gym becomes a trusted community hub for connection, inclusion, and support. They envision a space that not only benefits children through play and sensory experiences, but also strengthens the local community by promoting kindness, acceptance, and advocacy for all families.
